Florence (aka Flo)

Beautiful black Freisian mare, 16.1hh, born in 2007.

Flo came to us aged seven as someone’s failed project. She had been living in a dark barn and was very underweight. She was very shy, tricky to catch and not rideable due to fear and pain from a back issue. We have been working with Flo since she came to us and she has been receiving regular physiotherapy treatment to help support her back.

Thanks to the efforts of the team Flo is now so much more confident. Having worked through natural horsemanship programmes she is a lot less anxious, more settled and friendly. She started agility training in May 2021 and is now competing at advanced level. 

Flo is reserved until she needs her quarters itched which brings her out of her shell and she positions her back legs at anyone willing to give her a good scratch.
